Come and help us find which improvisers on stage are secretly turning into werewolves at night and find them before they reach their horrific goal of ridding the Millers Hollow of innocent people.

DUCTAC is proud to announce the upcoming exhibition Ramadanization!

Building on last year’s social media series which explored artists and designers’ personal versus collective memories of Ramadan, this year’s exhibition features new commissions wherein artists reflect on their own significant memories and experiences of Ramadan. Against increasing corporatisation of Ramadan, these personal and artistic re-interpretations highlight many common and shared experiences of the holy month by incorporating recognisable elements such as Ramadan musalsalat (Khalid Mezaina), the iftar table (Fatima Albudoor), or being on one’s best behaviour (Safwan Subzwari).

Location: The Gallery of Lights, DUCTAC, Level 2, Mall of the Emirates
Date: Monday 13 June until Saturday 9 July

Event Link: Ramadanization

Outside: Conversations, Thinking and Films About Art

The Jam Jar is excited to announce OUTSIDE, a summer program of conversations, thinking, and films about art outside of its traditional boxes!

Outside The Museum: Urban and Street Art
Talk + Film + Discussion // Join us as we learn more about the work of Dubai’s own eL Seed. Hear from
eL Seed about his work on the walls of Cairo, how he plans and executes this type of work and the challenges that come with it. We will also think about the particular challenges and opportunities of taking art outside of the white cube, in terms of both gaining broader access and appeal but also the role of public art.

Outside Arts Education and Engagement in the UAE
Panel discussion //Meagan Horsman-Kelly from Meem Gallery, Anabelle de Gersigny from Tashkeel, and Alexandra MacGilp from Maraya Art Centre // Art galleries are traditionally viewed as commercial entities. Yet in Dubai, due to the lack of a contemporary art museum, art galleries and other institutions play a vital role in educating and engaging the public about contemporary art – despite the fact that this is not their primary function. Join us for a panel featuring speakers who discuss the unique roles and strategies their institutions and others have undertaken to stimulate and encourage arts education in the UAE.

Outside the Arts Curriculum
Panel discussion //Artist – Azim al Ghussein, Karim Sultan from Barjeel Art Foundation, Tamsin Wildy from Tashkeel // Join us for a panel discussion that focuses on rethinking the arts curriculum. This event aims to foster conversation and dialogue about developing alternative curricula that enable students in the region to connect with art and art history in terms more representative of their aesthetics and experience than the Western art historical canon.

Location: The Jam Jar, Unit H74, Al Serkal Avenue, Al Quoz 1, Dubai
Outside The Museum: Urban and Street Art – Wednesday 15 June
Outside Arts Education and Engagement in the UAE – Wednesday 22 June
Outside the Arts Curriculum – Wednesday 29 June
